Day 2: Phnom Penh – History & Heritage
Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21 prison), a sobering reminder of the Khmer Rouge era. Continue to the Choeung Ek Memorial (Killing Fields). In the afternoon visit the National Museum, housing the world's largest collection of Khmer art. Evening flight to Siem Reap.
Day 3: Angkor Wat Sunrise & Bayon Temple
Rise before dawn for the unmissable sunrise over the five towers of Angkor Wat reflected in the moat. Spend the morning exploring the main temple. After breakfast, visit the Bayon Temple with its 54 towers bearing 216 serene stone faces. Continue to Baphuon and the Terrace of Elephants.
Day 4: Ta Prohm & Outer Temples
Visit the jungle-clad Ta Prohm temple (made famous by Tomb Raider), where giant tree roots engulf ancient stone walls. Continue to Banteay Srei, the 'Citadel of Women', renowned for its intricate pink sandstone carvings. Evening: Apsara traditional dance dinner show.
Day 5: Tonle Sap Floating Village
Morning at leisure. Afternoon boat trip to the Kompong Khleang floating village on the vast Tonle Sap Lake, where entire communities live on the water in stilted houses. Watch the sunset over the lake and return for a final Cambodian dinner of Fish Amok and Khmer curry.
